1. How much do your Weekly Art Classes cost?

2. Do siblings receive a discount?
Yes. After your first promotional month, Kids and Teen siblings receive 10% off tuition.
3. Why is Tuition due by the 25th and why do you charge a late fee?
In order to honor our 6 to 1 student-teacher ratio on a monthly basis, we need to know in advance how many students plan on attending classes to book the number of Instructors. This is also why we are by appointment only. We charge a $10 late fee after the 25th to encourage customers to pay on time, which will help us avoid last minute calling in of staff or worse - having to turn students away for registering too late because we need to be prepared with the correct number of staff. It is not meant as a punishment, but rather to protect the quality of service for our customers.
4. How many classes does the tuition cover?
Your monthly tuition pays for 4 classes (one class each week). Classes in the Kids Program are an hour and a half, and the Teen/Adult classes are 2 hours each week. When there are 5 weeks in a month, classes do not meet in the 5th week. We now offer new Group Classes during that 5th week of the month!
5. Do I have to purchase my starting materials from you as a new student?
Yes. We use specific brands for their quality, some of which are difficult to find in our local art stores. The cost is built into the registration price.We require supplies to be purchased at the time of registration to ensure that the student will have them on time ready for class. You are required to bring them each week. There is a $3 material fee to rent the studio supplies if you forget to bring yours. This starting materials fee is not a recurring fee.
6. Do you offer make up classes?
Yes. If you cannot make it to one of your regular scheduled classes, you may make it up as long as proper notice is given as outlined in the TERMS: Kids or TERMS: Teen/Adults during registration. Basically, at least a 2 hour call in before class is required (9am students must notify the day prior), and we have a Cancels & Reschedules form set up on this site for customers to notify us of any changes to their schedule (if it's at least a 24 hr notice). We have to be strict about our Cancellation Policy due to our special 6 to 1 student teacher ratio; late cancellations and no shows affect the number of staff required for the classes.
7. Are parents allowed in class?
Parents are not allowed in class while class is in session. We have limited space and our Instructors need to be able to teach as trained without distractions. On the first day of class, parents may stay for the first few minutes until they see that their child is comfortable. Our seating is arranged toward the window so parents can observe from the outside. We have 8 security cameras set up and many live-scanned fingerprinted adults in the class at all times. Parents are invited in after class to enjoy the end-of-class Art Show.
8. My child is 13 but doesn't want to be in a class with younger children. Can they attend the Teen/Adult Program?
Yes. We understand that the age group between 11 and 13 sometimes feel they would be more comfortable in a setting with an older peer group. It is a more mature vibe, as long as they can do without the prizes and Art Shows at the end of class, they are welcome to try the older program.
9. How are your Instructors qualified to teach art to my children?
Every Instructor I've hired was already a phenomenal artist to begin with and their portfolio was carefully reviewed during the hiring process. All Instructors have either graduated from a Fine Art Program or are currently working on their degree in fine arts. I take that talent and train each Instructor to teach the way I teach. All our curriculums have a standard method across the board, so any one of us can jump in and help any student successfully finish their projects without guessing about how to execute the techniques.
10. How are your Art Camps and Group Classes different from your Weekly Art Classes?
Art camps are offered during school breaks, and our Group Classes are offered during a 5th week occurance in a month or as a Special Event. These are group classes where everyone is taught a specific picture for one class. All supplies are included in the price. Because these are group classes, it is usually taught by one main teacher with one or two assistants depending on the number of students. Our Art Parties are also taught this way.
Our Weekly Art Classes are offered all year round, even during Art Camps days. These are not group classes but more like a semi-private lesson; students are taught individually with a maximum of 6 students in a group. Classes meet once a week for an hour and half in the Kids Program and 2 hours in the Teen/Adult Program. Students get to choose their own drawings within their skill level. Student Progress Logs are filled out for each student by their teacher each week and students are graduated to the next level on an individual basis.
11. How do you choose which art that gets displayed in your studio window each week?
Our staff selects the art based on certain factors: does it stand out from across the street, does it read well as a jpg for our website Home and Facebook page, and does the collection include a variety of ages and mediums (we also try our best to be sensitive about sibling rivalry and not repeating the same students continually). We also feature the art that is hung inside the classroom each week. This way, every student receives acknowledgement for all their hard work. Not only that, but each Instructor tracks their students' progress which incorporates a rewards system, and we present each student's work at the end of class with a positive critique. Everything we do in the classroom is set up for your child's success and positive reinforcement.
